With his Waratahs team in a desperate battle to secure a place in the Super Rugby finals, the term break is no time for rest for Ned Hanigan. The Waratahs are precariously balanced in third places in the Australian conference and must fight to win a make or break game against the Jaguares at Western Sydney Stadium this Saturday night.

On an individual level, Ned is also hoping to impress Wallabies coach Michael Cheika as the Australian squad gears up for the Rugby World Cup in September. He will be looking to put out some impressive performances over the next few rounds to secure himself a ticket on the plane to Japan.

UNSW Sport caught up with Ned to chat about how he balances a professional sporting career with his studies.
