Chan won a bronze medal in the 50 metre breastroke event at the Australian Championships and will look to carry this form into the upcoming meet.

Berryman made the finals in all three of his races, finishing fifth in the 200 metre backstroke, fourth in the 100 metre backstroke and taking a bronze medal in the 50 metre backstroke.

The event was an unusual one with finals swum in the morning and heats in the evening, replicating and preparing athletes for what they will experience at the Tokyo Olympics.

Unisport Nationals, which will run from 13-16 May, will be held as part of the Sydney Open Invitational Meet at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, and will be contested in both men's and women's competitions.

UNSW has a small but strong team attending the event - led by Berryman and Chan and including fellow Elite Athlete Program members Jordan White and Emily Washer, along with a crew of talented youngsters.

Just like at Australian Championships, finals will be held in the morning of each day. The competition kicks off with heats on Thursday evening and concludes on Sunday morning with the last group of finals.
