On Saturday 8 February, UNSW and Sydney Uni will put their differences aside and come together for a great cause. The two hockey clubs have joined forces to put on an event to raise money for Wires and the Australian Red Cross in support of bushfire relief.

Family, friends and furry companions are invited to the day of hockey, music, raffles and more. Attendees are asked to open their wallets for the much-needed fire relief for those affected in the disaster.

There will be plenty on during the day, including some social mixed hockey games for those who want to get into the action and pick up a stick. There will also be plenty of cheering to be done with masters, men's and women's invitational games to be played during the day as well.

There will also be a BBQ, a bake sale, some raffles with exciting prizes to be won and plenty of other fundraising activities. The day will feature live music to add to the celebration of giving. All funds raised on the day will be donated to Wires and the Australian Red Cross!

The clubs are looking for volunteers for the day, so if you don't have much cash to spare, consider offering your time instead, by picking up some BBQ tongs or selling raffle tickets.

A Facebook event has been set up with all the details, as well as a fundraising page for people to make donations before the day and a registration page for the social mixed hockey.

Get behind our club as they raise money for this very worthy cause.
