UNSW-ES Bulldogs named AFL Sydney 2019 Club Champions

This award recognises overall achievement at the club and recognises the strength of the Bulldogs across their seven teams.

Club president Stephen Dunkley was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the Bulldogs.

"We are very honoured to receive the club champion award on behalf of our great club," he said. "It’s a privilege to be a small part of a soon to be 140 year old club. Thanks to everyone before me and to UNSW sport who support us, our fantastic junior pathway clubs Easts Bulldogs and Maroubra junior clubs, as well as my committee and sponsors, as without a great team effort this would not have happened."

The UNSW-ES club will contest three grand finals in total this year - the Men's Under 19 Division 1 has already been run and won with the Bulldogs defeating Sydney Uni.

The Men's Premier Division will aim for back-to-back premierships against Sydney Uni this Saturday, while the Men's Division Two team will look to knock off St George.

The Women's Premier Division and Men's Premier Reserves teams both made the finals series but were unfortunately knocked out before the grand final.

The Men's Under 19 Division Two and Women's Division Two teams unfortunately just missed finals, finishing fifth and sixth on the ladder respectively, but both teams will be looking to build and improve for 2020.

The Awards night was one to remember for the UNSW-ES Bulldogs, with Troy Luff being recognised as the highest goal scorer in Men's Division Two.

Club director Jemma Still was recognised as an AFL Sydney Life Member and inducted on the night. Jemma has been a long time player, coach and administrator of the Bulldogs who has been extremely dedicated and loyal to the club, so this was a very well-deserved honour.
