Schedule of UNSW students competing in Tokyo 2021

While the Opening Ceremony won't take place until 9pm Friday, #TeamUNSW swings into action in Tokyo at 6pm Thursday, with Bachelor of Commerce / Science student Gianni Stensness kicking things off with the OlyWhites - New Zealand's U23 Football team.

On Saturday we will get our first glimpse of hockey stars Tim Brand (Bachelor of Actuarial Studies / Commerce) and Dylan Martin (Bachelor of Construction Management & Property) when the Kookaburras play hosts Japan at 10:30am.

Later that afternoon Amy Ridge (Bachelor of Arts / Law) will take to the pool with the Aussie Stingers, including UNSW-Wests Water Polo club members Lea Yanitsas and Bronte Halligan, to take on Canada at 3pm.

Sunday is when the men's water polo team open their campaign, with Tim Putt (Bachelor of Arts/Commerce), Nathan Power (Master of Commerce) playing with the Sharks, alongside alumni Aaron Younger (Master of Business Administration) and Andrew Ford (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) and UNSW-Wests Water Polo club members Richie Campbell, Joel Dennerley and assistant coach Tim Hamill.

On Monday the Rugby 7s competition gets started and at 11:30am you can see Henry Hutchison (Bachelor of Commerce) and Dylan Pietsch (Bachelor of Arts) take the field against Argentina.

On Wednesday the sailing competition gets underway and alumnus Lisa Darmanin (Bachelor of Commerce / International Studies) will be looking to go one better than her silver medal at the Rio 2016 Games.

Our last UNSW athlete to start their Tokyo campaign is alumnus Georgia Winkcup (Bachelor of Arts / Law) who will run in the 3000m steeplechase heats on Sunday 1 August at 10:10am.
