Another glorious weekend dawned around Sydney, giving our teams plenty of opportunities to take to the fields and show their #TeamUNSW spirit. Let's check in and go around the grounds!

WOMEN'S CRICKET

Unfortunately things aren't looking up for the Universities first grade team, as they struggled through another match on the weekend. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Universities lost a couple of quick wickets, before Frankie Nicklin helped to build a decent total with her 50 from 46 balls. The team finished all out for 102 after 19 overs. An early wicket from Aarya Shipurkar (1/15) at the start of Parramatta's innings created some hope, but the next few batters dug in and set to work dismantling the total, reaching it in the 16th over to take the win. Zoe Benjamin (1/11) and Madeline Case (1/17) were also in the wickets, but it wasn't enough to get Universities over the line.

MEN'S CRICKET

UNSW threw everything they had at trying to claw back Sydney's huge total of 399 set on day one of this match, but weren't able to come close. Hayden McLean dug in and held his ground at the crease for as long as he could, scoring 38 from 117 balls. Chris Tremain (27) and Dan Christian (22) were also solid contributors, but unfortunately couldn't get there in the end. It was better news in the T20 Cup on Sunday, with UNSW recording a huge win over Eastern Suburbs, thanks to a big innings from Jack Attenborough (113 off 61), ably supported by Thomas Scoble (66 off 28) and Dan Christian (30 off 14). Adrian Isherwood (3/19) was the pick of the bowlers, while Christian (2/12), Scoble (2/22) and McLean (2/24) chipped in as well in a great team effort.

GRIDIRON

A great bounce back from the Raiders men's team this weekend, with a huge win over the Wollongong Mustangs to get their season back on track. No result in the women's game for the Raiders on the weekend, as an ambulance was called for one of the Sydney Uni players and the game had to be abandoned.
